Les Cépages Oubliés 2009

France, Loire

Wine created from Gamay de Bouze, an ancient vine originally from Burgundy and implanted in the Cher Valley over a hundred years ago.

This particular variety of very colourful red fleshed berries is very different from the traditional berries with white juice.

This variety has practically disappeared, but appreciated for its rusticity well balanced with generosity.

Winery Description

A very dense wine, deep colours and over-boarding Black fruit aromas.
- tannins are round and harmonious
- density and structure are fascinating

Comparing it to NO OTHER existing GAMAY.

Pairing

To be appreciated with hearty sandwiches and roasted meats.

Cellaring

Serve just cooled around 12° when young.
It can also be aged 30 - 40 years and its structure reserves surprises through the years.
