Collioure
Located in the same production range as the fine wines of Banyuls and on only 400 hectares, the production of Collioure reds represent almost 400 hectares - AOC since 1971 - and rosés - AOC since 1991.On sunny terraces the Syrah, Grenache and Mourvèdre varietals produce wines that are hearty, aromatic and very robust. These full-bodied wines have notes of spice and stewed dark berries (notably prunes currant, blackberry and blueberry). Their character becomes more wild and animalistic with age.
Collioure Rose has a strong aromatic intensity. It presents itself as powerful and robust on the palate, with a lively and sustaining color.
White Collioure obtained AOC status in 2002. The Grenaches Gris and Blanc make up the beautiful part of these special wines, where the uniqueness of the aromas are characterized by notes of fruit with white pulp, citrus fruit, and acacia.
Dominant varietals:
Reds: Grenache, Mourvèdre and Syrah
Whites: Grenache Blanc and Gris Roussanne
